One Two Three Flower Wednesday

I got an early start tonight, so I was able to finish three flowers.  I have no theme going with my flowers, and I have not repeated any fabrics in the petals.  I don't have a clue where I'm heading with these, but they're fun to make to I keep going.

Our model this evening is Scooter, my almost fourteen year old critter.

March Block - BSA

We failed to stop and get our mail yesterday, so I just found this in the mailbox today.  I am tickled pink!  This is from Barbara in Arizona.  I'm also going to add it to the post below so they'll all be together.  Isn't this lovely?  Everyone has totally nailed my colors, and I'm getting a variety of styles of baskets.
Blogger is being contrary today, and I cannot get this to post in the direction that I want it.  And the colors are much nicer in real life than in this photo!

Here is the block that I sent to Barbara.  She requested a 9-patch, (but not just a plain 9-patch) in Civil War Fabrics.  She seemed pleased with her block.

This is a fun swap!  Today, I even got to go shopping for April fabric, because the wish list does not include anything in my stash.   Darn.....

One Flower Wednesday

I usually try to make two flowers on One Flower Wednesday, so my garden will grow faster!  One of my lovely new pincushions is in the background.

I've also started to make yo-yo's for my YoYoVille quilt.  They're going much faster than I expected.  I'm keeping them in a clear jar so I can just look at them and admire them.  I'll take a picture when I have a few more.

and now I must hit the post button or this will be One Flower Thursday, and that just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Shouldn't post late at night!

I usually post very late at night, and I'm literally falling asleep at the keyboard sometimes.  The other night, I posted about making my name badge for Guild, but I forgot to post a picture.
I have tried rotating this every which way, but blogger wants it sideways, so that's how you'll get it.  I couldn't find a smudge tool, so I used an eraser, and lost control at one time, so that's what the wild white  line is!

I also forgot to show you the wonderful pincushions that I received from LeAnn for the CGQC Pincushion swap.  No, that is not a typo.  She sent me THREE pincushions and a matching tissue pack.  They're adorable.
I just mailed hers on Friday, so it will be a couple more days before I can post them, because I want her to be the first to see them.  It was a fun swap, and I hope to be involved in more in the future.  Did I really say that?!?

Well, back to my Easter wall hanging, and blocks for the Christmas Bee that I'm involved with.  This one is really making me step outside of my comfort range, but it's fun!

FNSI results

or "How I spent FNIS and NQD"

I found these adorable cookie cutters on sale a couple of weeks ago, and just knew they would make a cute wallhanging.  Here is the result.  I'm thinking of adding one butterfly on top, and then quilt and bind.

I decided to use a different flower, to add some texture, and I'm very pelased with the results!

Jumping back in

Warning . . . Long post.  I guess I'll start with One flower Wednesday.  Although I haven't been posting, I have been sewing and stitching.
I also put together my mini blooms from my last post.  I'm not sure what to do next.  It's just meant to be a small table topper, but I don't know how to finish it.  Any suggestions are welcome.

I actually wanted smaller hexies, so since I made this, I bought a smaller Creative Memories punch.  So now I can play with teeny tiny hexies!  I currently have two more flowers in progress.

Three weeks ago, I went to a Quilt retreat at a lovely quilt B&B.  I got most of a flimsy done, a couple of blocks for my diary quilt, and a bunch of fan blades for a fan quilt that I'm still designing in my head.  Lots of quilting and gabbing, but not much sleep

I hope to finish the hearts this weekend.  It's for Margaret's Hope Chest

The following week I went on a scrapbooking retreat.  I don't scrapbook much any more, since i quilt and blog, but it's my annual girl getaway with my college roommate

Always a fun getaway.  Lots of scrapping and gabbing, but not much sleep.

Then last weekend was my birthday weekend.  Hubby had bought a Groupon deal for a restaurant down near Baltimore, so we went down for dinner and some shopping.  We had some extra time on our hands, so i convinced him that we should check out the nearest quilt shop.  As I was walking toward the building, I noticed a stitching shop next door, so I went in there first.   Without really meaning to, I spent all my birthday money!  Then I went into the quilt shop, but I didn't find much of interest to me.  Dinner was wonderful!  It was our first Groupon experience, and we were very happy with the experience.

Earlier that morning, I went to a quilt workshop to make a name badge for our Guild.  It was my first experience with paper piecing, and while the result was good, I'm not sure I like that technique.

Well, I have more to tell you, but I'm falling asleep, so will be back tomorrow.
