Quilts and Flowers

My guild’s quilt show was this weekend, and although it’s a relatively small show, there was some incredible talent on display.  This was probably my favorite.

The detail on this quilt was amazing.  The dancer was so detailed that she had painted fingernails and toenails, and was wearing a tiny diamond earing.

The quilting on this next quilt fascinated me.

Some of the other pictures I took for inspiration for the future.

There were a few vendors at the show, and I may have purchased a small amount of fabric.  I’ve really been doing very well this year with only using fabric in my stash, but I felt the need to enhance that stash just a little.  I had heard that there was a really nice wool vendor, but they apparently

packed up at the end of the day on Saturday.  What a disappointment.  I guess I’ll just have to place another order with my friend Cathi at Shakerwood Woolens.

When I got home this afternoon, I spent some time in my front yard taking photos of our flowers.  Mr. QD loves flowers, and we have a very nice selection of bulbs in the Spring.

Last weekend, we took a drive looking for wildflowers.  DH got a tip about a field of flowers that we just had to see!

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you know that I LOVE SPRING!!

When not taking pictures of flowers, I’ve been working like crazy on a baby quilt for a coworker.  I took this picture a week ago, and I’ve added a lot of embroidery since then.  I was hoping to get it finished today, but I’m not quite there.

Stay tuned….Sunny

  15. I'm with your husband--love, love, love flowers! Luckily I can get them to grow in my relatively shady yard. Not vegetables though.

I like the simple patchwork of the baby quilt. Did you embroider in the white blocks?

The show looked like it was fun!
