One Flower Wednesday and Mail Call

It's time to get back to some stitching now that I'm home and the mountain of laundry is done.  Today I made two flowers, and a bunch of connector petals.  I've also finished some embroidery that will be showing up in a Christmas gift before the end of the month.

I received two packages in the mail today, one being my Inchy Swap flowers from Jane. She also sent a very cute card and enclosed some charm squares to maybe make some more flowers?

I also received a very unusual package from Teresa.  Back on Australia Day, she mentioned Vegemite, and we had a conversation when I asked what Vegemite really was.  She offered to send some to me, and she had problems posting it, but it finally arrived today.  And she packaged it in the cutest little bag, and enclosed a card.

As I was leaving town for my vacation, I stopped at the mailbox and found my BSA February block from Raelene.  She said it was her first basket block, and she did a beautiful job, using perfect colors.  She also included some of the leftover fabric, which will certainly be used in future hexies.

And here is the block that I sent to Raelene:

I also won a bookmark from Vickie!  It's already been put to good use.

Wow, this was just going to be a quick OFW post.  More stitching news to follow soon.

Contentment is not complacency......Sunny

  1. What lovely packages you came home too. The hexie flowers look good in white or are those the little cardboard shapes?

  2. What a newsy post! Lovely blocks and making great progress on your hexies. I wonder if you have tried the Vegemite yet...? I hope Teresa also explained that there is a similar spread called Marmite... and usually people have a very strong preference for one or the other and very rarely does someone like both!... me, I'm a Marmite girl!! Now, if you don't like the Vegemite and want to give Marmite a go, I can always send you a jar...!! (Also handy for flavouring beef stews, etc!!)

  4. Laundry always seems inevitable after a holiday so it is good to have it out of the way.
Looks like you have had quite a few good distractions to help, too.

  13. Lovely post with lots of goodies! Always love to see the hexies. I changed the One Flower Wednesday sign in link from SimplyLinked to Mister Linky to see if this eliminates the sign in problems for some of the members, be sure to try it next time you post for OFW.
