As I was putting away my Christmas items today, I took pictures of the gifts I received from my friends in blog land. From my lovely friend Maria, I received this wonderful Lynette Anderson book, and an Australian calendar. Thanks Maria!!
Di sent a package that contained several things: some little wee teddies to hang on my tree, stickers that will be incorporated into my scrapbooking and card making, and a wooden BELIEVE that has a picture holder attached to it. Di and I both like the word Believe, and exchange a gift with it each year. I just this minute decided how I'm going to use this new one. I also won a charm pack from Di, and she included it with my gifts. Can't wait to turn it into something wonderful.
I've been giving a lot of thought to my WORD for this year, and I've come up with KINDNESS. I decided to participate in 26 Acts of Kindness in memory of the 26 lives lost in Newtown Connecticuty, and I've gained more from it than the recipients of the acts of kindness. I think this world needs more kindness, from being kind to ourselves to being kind to total strangers. While I've read many stories about financial kindness, an act of kindness does not have to cost anything. I helped a neighbor shovel snow on Saturday! Imagine a world where strangers are kind to one another.
Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.

Be kind to yourself......Sunny
What a wonderful thought. I am going to try to follow your example and add more kindness into my world! Thanks for the inspiration.

Kindness...a beautiful word. My word this year is 'joy'... joy for me and joy for others. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts and cards, Sunny. Your word couldn't be more fitting and I'm sure your acts of kindness will go a very long way. I think I'll join your kitty between the pillows ;>)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I love your choice of word, Sunny, and you are a great example to us all. You have received such lovely gifts. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAgain this year I thought about changing my word--Believe--but there is something about that word that so belongs to me--makes me happy, and I feel safe--
ReplyDeletebut decided what I would do is add a word to it--so this year it is--
Believe in fun--and that fun can include acts of kindness cause that to me is 'fun'!!!
so can't wait to see how much 'fun' we both get ourselves into!!!
hugs,love, di and monster cat!!
I do love your new word Sunny. It fits along with my last year's word, nicey. Kindness is such a good way to be and act. It can totally change someone else's world.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Hope you have a wonderful 2013.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Sunny and it sure would be a different world if there was more kindness and I agree it does not have to cost you anything , a simple smile shows kindness in many cases. Glad you liked the postcard:-)
ReplyDeleteLovely presents, and lovely word :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about if people all did acts of kindness, what a place we would have. Your thoughts of kindness will spread to others.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Anita.
