Wow - Earthquake!

I just felt my first earthquake!  It was centered south of Washington DC, and was very minor.  I was out sunning myself on the deck, and it was swaying!  But it's all over the TV, so I'm not able to watch any of the afternoon programs that I've become accustomed to watching.  Guess I'll have to sew.

  1. I saw it on the computer and was thinking about you. Glad you didn't have any damage. Have a happy afternoon!

  2. Glad it was just minor one. It seems so funny to see the uproar all over the east coast when we here on the west coast take them in stride. Hopefully your programming will return to normal.

  5. I heard about one in Colorado too. I think thiers was yesterday. Well, coming from earth quake country (California)I don't think they are too bad, as long as people are not injured. For me they are much less scary than tornados.

  8. Oh my goodness---where have I been--I had a lot of catching up on reading your blog tonight--love the cross stitches you have done--I have bought several to do and all kinds of threads--but this knitting think has me in it 'grasp' and just won't let me do anything else it seems!!!!
Oh and we had an earthquake here in Watkins glen today toooooooo!!!! It is so funny ==I have a new hummer feeder right outside the living room window and this morning I noticed that the sugar water in it was moving in a different direction than normal and wondered if it meant we would have one today--we get a good rumble about once a year here!!! but it is scary to have so many large ones in one day !!!
I do see that you are keeping busy--and that is good--you are working circles around me these days--way to go girl!!!!
Hugs, Di and miss gracie--whom by the way has still not mopped the kitchen floor for me!!!!!

Do you remember the earthquake a few years ago in Germantown?

  12. Glad it wasn't bigger and that no one was injured. Amazing that it was felt in such a broad area. I am in Calif. too, so we aren't shocked when we hear of them in the area, but on the east coast? Crazy! Hope everything's going well for you, Sunny and that your husband is still feeling better, and able to eat.

  15. I have a friend just outside of Richmond and she emailed me all upset. I did my best to comfort her and she emailed me back that she had calmed down and she and her husband had a good laugh about it. Gotta keep your sense of humor about these things. And then, of course, it's best to go back to your sewing. :)

  16. I'm so glad you are okay! We've had a few big shakers out here in California and they're always a bit unnerving.

  17. Girl, that earthquake scared me!! I'm in NC and I was sitting on the couch with the dogs. Everything behind me, in the kitchen area, seemed to rumble and the dogs started barking. I thought someone was trying to get in the back door and was shaking it violently. After a short time, it stopped, and I briefly thought 'earthquake' but was more inclined to think someone was breaking in. LOL Truly a day we'll never forget, right?
