It's August already?

I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted, so I need to get back with the program. I haven't done any sewing all summer and I even stopped into a quilt shop a couple of days ago, and walked out empty handed. How pathetic is that? I fear I shall be banned from the sisterhood of quilters. I had planned to do Kelly's Quilt-a-long, but I was just too stressed and overwhelmed at the time. I have been crocheting and cross-stitching, however, which I recently took up again after an absence of several years. I have two Christmas gifts in progress, and one is nearing completion.

I've also started exercising, which is long overdue. I'm walking, riding my exercise bike, and of course kayaking!

I couldn't believe how close these geese allowed us to get!

Yesterday was a perfect day to be out on the water. Not too hot (Finally!!) and a slight breeze. We went to a nice lake in Pennsylvania and spent a very nice afternoon on the water.

I plan to make a few cards today, download pictures from my cameras, and then I promise that I will do some sewing. Someone hold me accountable please!!

  2. If you sew I will sew today too! I have been away from my sewing room all last week and want to get back to a sewing routine. I tried to e-mail you in response to your comments on my post but it would not go through. I am at the office so maybe there is a glitch in our server. The quilt show was a great succes and so were all the family activites.

I'm having the same problem! I've been home from Salinas for two days now and haven't even opened my sewing room door. But you are doing something relaxing (cross stitch & crocheting). kayaking!! I'm so jealous! :-) And those pictures look so calm and beautiful!

  4. I'm finding it hard to get anything done this summer too. It is just too nice to stay indoors! But, soon the cold will be upon us and we will get our quilting acts together!
