Do you have a favorite pattern to use with Jelly Rolls? I’ve never actually used a jelly roll, but I won one this week, and I want to make something special.
Anne from Bunny Hill wanted to give away some extra fabric that she had, and I was one of the lucky winners!! Imagine my surprise when I received an entire jelly roll.
I also won a fat quarter bundle from the American Made Blog Hop. Have you been following along? They asked one blogger from each state to design a license plate using their fabric, and representing their state. Each blogger is giving away a fat quarter bundle, and many are also having a secondary giveaway. My name was drawn by Margaret from Maine.
The fabric is all made in the US, and it has a very nice feel to it. I haven’t worked with solids very much, so I’ll be looking for a special project for this too.
Have a nice weekend! Sunny
Great wins, what will you make? I love using Jelly rolls to make all kinds of things and you will too! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on two super wins. I always love jelly rolls, but it can be difficult to undo them cos they look so lovely all rolled up!
ReplyDeleteLucky you winning two great prizes. I love jelly rolls and can't help myself from buying them.
ReplyDeleteHave bought a couple of Jelly Roll Quilt books by Pam and Nicky Lintott but there are also plenty go free patterns if you google it.
congratulations on your wins! I can hardly wait to see what you come up with for your jelly roll. I've never made anything with a jelly rolll and also have one waiting for a project.

Congratulations on your wins. Go to Moda Bake Shop and you'll find lots of Jelly Roll ideas.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the wins! I have only used one jelly roll in a quilt. I used a design from Kim Brackett. You can download some of her patterns from ShopMartingale.com.
ReplyDeleteWonderful wins, will look forward to seeing the jelly roll made up :)
ReplyDeleteI use a simple pattern that I love but I can't remember the name of it. Or where I got it. :) Maybe Missouri Star Quilt Company's youtube tutorials... I simply sew the strips together end to end (I do mine on a 45 degree angle) until I get to the end. Then I cut off 18" from the beginning and put that in my scrap bag. I take the two ends and put them right sides together. Sew the length of strips until you come to the end where you have to cut it in half. Then do that again. Clear as mud, right? :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYou have been on a winning streak! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great win Sunny - the other ladies are right - there are heaps of free patterns online, & plenty of other places where you can purchase a pattern - what I find helpful is to 'google' the product line and see what others have made from it. Often the fabric designer has a free pattern or two on their site...
ReplyDeleteI would be like you, being choosy about how you use it, I'm sure you'll find something good to make!
Wow congratulations! Would love to win some fabric just one time - :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday...
I have a couple jelly rolls just waiting to be sewn up so I'm not much help for that - however, I can say Congrats! And looking at them is almost as much fun as sewing them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your wins. Jelly rolls are great fun. There are lovely free patterns online at Moda Bake Shop.
ReplyDeleteOh lucky you!! You can do so many small cute quilts with jelly rolls. Can't wait to see what you have in mind.
